At last, a truly unique addition to any real
water garden!
As a direct response to his customers wishes to have a
feature in their ponds, lakes and water gardens without following
the usual trail of fishes and fountains, Barry Clarke at
Shropshire Dovecotes has come up with the ultimate solution:
Shropshire Duck Cotes.
|
Using
his experience as a renowned maker of traditional and
contemporary dovecotes, Barrys range of duck cotes
presents the water gardener and wild fowl/duck keeper with the
same high standards of functionality and construction. All are
hand crafted, incorporating depth to provide space for
incubating and enough construction detail to keep their
incumbents snug and dry from the elements at all times of
year.
The first range is constructed of all-weather ply and
treated with coats of teak oil. The roofs, with overhanging
eaves, are finished in dark oak pressure-treated feather-edged
boarding on a ply base. Newly available is a pole-mounted
porch entry duck cote constructed of tongue and grooved
cladding. Finished with teak oil for easy annual maintenance
and a fluted lower edge, this makes an attractive and longer
lasting form of duck cote than the all- weather plywood
models.

The
other choice uses Barrys Chetwynd dovecote
design, making it deeper and wider with a porched entry. Many
optional finishes are available, including a Heather Thatched
roof. An Oriental version to suit themed gardens
is also available. All are topped by a gold acorn finial and
Barry is always interested in hearing of any other design
ideas he can create to fulfill customers needs.
Available in a range of sizes, Shropshire Duck Cotes are a must
have for any living water or wildlife garden. |
